David Darcy is a multi-disciplinary, award winning artist based in Murrurundi, NSW. His accolades include; Nine best selling photographic books. People’s Choice Awards from the coveted Archibald Prize, The Darling Portrait Prize and The National Photographic Portrait Prize. He has also been commissioned by Parliament House to paint for the Historic Memorials Collection, in 2025 he painted the Honourable Bob Katter.
David has worked on assignments/commissions domestically and abroad, his work has appeared in numerous publications across the country, and featured on national and international television.
Born in Springwood in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. David developed a keen interest in the arts from an early age and by sixteen had won the NSW State Photographic Top Shot Award. As a self taught artist, David pursued his passion with a camera for sixteen years before turning his hand to painting in 2017. David’s work - both photography and painting - is in private and public collections both nationally and internationally.
